A blend of the choicest speciality malts creates a deep dark base full of roasted coffee, sticky molasses and toasted malt flavours. It pours smooth, with a delicious thick and creamy head, and has a lightness to the palette, with a refreshing dry bitterness.For this edition of Shadow Play, we utilise a new experimental hop variety from Yakima Chief, HBC472, to see what flavours and aromas it would impart to this traditional style. A sister hop of Sabro, it brings aromas of toasted Brazil nut and enhances the flavours of each malt variety used.
